My Journey To Becoming A Blonde (sort of)

After a almost a year, I feel like I have finally achieved the tone of blonde that I've always wanted. My hair is naturally dark brown, almost black (Hispanic roots) so it's takes a lot not only to lift but to get a good tone and keep it.
Lauren at Salon Belladonna in Old Bridge, New Jersey has been amazing and patient with me on my journey to finally becoming a blondie. I'm a big fan of the balayage look because you can go a few months without coloring your hair and it still looks fresh because the color doesn't start at the root. If you're looking for someone who knows what they're doing cut and color wise, go see my girl Lauren. You can also check out some of her work on her instagram.

Here's a before picture of my hair when we first started making the transition in April. I used to have big vertical stripe across my hair but after it grew out I decided I wanted to finally taking the plunge and go blonde! It's crazy to look back at now. I also use Goldwell anti-brassness shampoo and conditioner. It's a big expensive but I usually only wash my hair now twice a week so I feel like it even outs. This brand also doesn't dry out my hair like some other purple shampoos do. I think you can only buy it in the salon but it's also on Amazon here.
